Job description

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides a Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ.

Position Summary:

The Head Lifeguard is responsible for assisting the Aquatics Manager to lead the lifeguard team. This position is 29 hours weekly with a minimum of 15 hours scheduled to lifeguard or teach aquatic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule and manage lifeguard staffing following established procedures

Assist with leading lifeguard in-service training with thorough documentation

Submit regular updates on staff training and skills performance

Train new lifeguards

Foster a cultural of accountability, professionalism, and spiritual growth among the lifeguard team

Communicate pool schedules, tasks, and other pertinent information to the lifeguard team with appropriate follow up and accountability

Maintain safety equipment and notify appropriate personnel when maintenance is necessary

Assist with water chemistry checks, pool cleaning, and basic pool maintenance tasks

Oversee and instruct group and private swim lesson and swim club sessions

Follow federal, state, and Centre guidelines

Serve as the Supervisor on Duty as needed

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Christian Faith:

· Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

· Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.

· Educational Background/Experience:

· Ability to relate and lead a diverse employee team

· American Red Cross lifeguard certification

· American Red Cross lifeguard instructor certification or the ability to obtain certification

· American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification desirable

· Minimum of one-year aquatic experience
