Job summary

Kent Place School seeks a Head Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach for the 2026-2027 season. Hours are 3:45-5:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with games potentially running later.

The fall season runs August 17 through November 12, and applicants should have relevant high school coaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to student-athlete development. Qualifications

• Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required.
• Educate and coach Kent Place student-athletes in field hockey.
• Provide leadership that promotes positive attitudes and good sportsmanship.
• Notifies team members of all Kent Place's policies, procedures, and training rules as they pertain to the team.
• Plan and communicate practice sessions and competition strategies that ensure the health and physical well-being of student-athletes.
• Coaches and instruct players regarding the rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during competition and practice to determine needs for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates game schedules, practice schedules, team tryouts, preseason meetings, team workouts, and conditioning sessions.
• Maintains supervision of student-athletes at practices and games.
• Maintains records and statistics; implements conditioning programs.
• Supervises and assigns duties to assistant coaches as necessary.
• Cares for equipment, supplies, and uniforms per procedures.
• Exhibits excellent communication and administrative skills.
