Job summary

Danbury Public Schools, through Danbury High School, seeks a dedicated Junior Varsity Field Hockey Head Coach for the upcoming fall season. You will lead and develop a competitive program while promoting teamwork, leadership, and academics among student-athletes.

Responsibilities include planning practices, developing strategies, ensuring compliance with CIAC rules, and communicating with families and staff. Coaching certification and safety certifications are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• CT teaching certification with Coaching Permit or Coaching Certification.
• First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Module 15 - Concussion Management certification.
• Knowledge of and/or experience in field hockey preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity field hockey practices and competitions.
• Develop and implement game strategies and skill development programs.
• Promote a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Ensure compliance with district, league, and CIAC regulations.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, and athletic staff.
• Maintain and manage equipment and program needs.
• Support the overall growth of the field hockey program.
