Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Head Golf Coach for Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon to lead and grow a competitive, inclusive golf program.

The successful candidate will teach fundamentals, plan practices and competitions, monitor academics, coordinate with the Athletic Director, and uphold OSAA rules while fostering character, teamwork, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at the high school or similar level.
• Knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and competition formats.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate golf techniques and sportsmanship.
• Strong verbal and written communication with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to foster positive relationships and a respectful team culture.
• Organize, plan, and conduct practices and competitions with health and safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the Thurston High School golf program.
• Plan and conduct practices and competitions, teaching fundamentals and strategies.
• Monitor student eligibility and support academic success; coordinate with Athletic Director.
• Ensure OSAA compliance and budget, schedules, transportation, and equipment.
