Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Head Cheerleading Coach to oversee all aspects of the program, including preseason planning, tryouts, and in-season management. The role includes coaching, organizing fundraisers, travel logistics, and ensuring compliance with IHSA and district policies.

The candidate must hold a teaching certificate or ASEP certification, complete a background check and drug test, and dedicate effort to athlete development and school spirit through events and performances.

Qualifications

• Must possess a teaching certificate or ASEP certification.
• Must pass ACUSD #11 background check and drug test and complete all employment forms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coach summer practices.
• Plan and receive administrative approval for several fundraisers to defray athletes' costs.
• Manage and distribute sports schedules.
• Provide first aid for students; maintain emergency procedures.
• Recruit athletes.
• Set up and manage tryouts.
• Follow IHSA eligibility and travel rules; ensure documentation is complete.
• Organize and participate in Homecoming activities and other pep rallies.
