Job summary

Sylvania seeks an energetic Cheer program facilitator to develop leadership and character among students. The role involves teaching cheer techniques, coordinating travel logistics, and supervising facilities to ensure safety and positive team culture. You will also assist with fundraising and maintain essential records.

The ideal candidate helps prevent bullying and hazing, connects well with students, and pursues NFHS certification while completing required background checks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Cheer and past Cheer experience.
• Interpersonal skills to develop team spirit and character growth.
• Ability to relate well with students and build rapport with kids.
• Familiarity with athletic events and safety considerations.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• NFHS certification planned or pursued.
• Must complete fingerprint-based Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Teach character development and leadership skills.
• Teach techniques and skills needed for the Cheer program.
• Supervise locker rooms and team bus while traveling.
• Ensure athlete safety, including prevention of bullying, harassment, and hazing.
• Assist team in fundraising decisions and event planning.
• Supervise fundraising activities before and during the school year.
• Complete paperwork for inventory, budgeting, records, etc.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Cheer Coach.
