Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Head Coach responsible for managing the coaching and athletic discipline of a sports team. The ideal candidate will model ethical sportsmanship, stay present during practices, and supervise all team activities. A high school diploma and previous coaching experience are required. Applicants should also possess current CPR, First Aid, and Concussion certifications.

This exempt-hourly position promotes the importance of academics while fostering student-athletes in their sports endeavors.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school degree; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous playing and/or coaching experience is required.
• Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Concussion are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Model sportsmanship behaviors outlined in the National Federation Coaches Code of Ethics.
• Have full control of the team in coaching and athletic discipline.
• Be present at practice sessions and contests.

Skills

Previous successful playing and/or coaching experience

Current CPR Certification

First Aid Certification

Concussion Certification

Knowledge of NCAA and NAIA rules

Education

High School Degree
