Job description

Overview

Cedar Creek Country Club is a small, private, member-focused country club located on Cedar Creek Lake in Kemp, Texas, just 45 minutes southeast of Downtown Dallas. For nearly 60 years, the Club has served as a gathering place for families, golfers, business owners, and friends throughout the Cedar Creek Lake community.

The Club features an 18-hole golf course measuring 6,819 yards, highlighted by TifEagle putting greens, a full practice range, putting green, short‑game practice areas, and recently renovated bunkers featuring Premier White sand.

Cedar Creek Country Club is experiencing an exciting period of growth. Membership has grown significantly over the past year, and the Club continues to invest in its golf course, facilities, technology, programming, and overall member experience.

The Club has active Men's and Women's Golf Associations, a strong calendar of member tournaments and events, daily golf groups, and a growing membership representing a wide range of playing abilities.

Position Overview

Cedar Creek Country Club is seeking an energetic and motivated Golf Professional who is ready to take the next step in their career.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Golf Professional, PGA Associate, recent PGA Golf Management graduate, or golf‑industry professional ready to take the next step in their career and lead a golf operation. It is equally well‑suited for an experienced Golf Professional seeking a smaller, independently operated private club where personal relationships, hands‑on leadership, and the member experience take priority over corporate structure.

While previous private‑club experience is valuable, we are equally interested in finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic, personality, golf knowledge, and desire to grow professionally.

The Golf Professional will work directly with the General Manager and alongside the Golf Course Superintendent, Golf Associations, Food & Beverage team, Membership & Marketing team, and Club leadership.

This is a highly visible and hands‑on position. The successful candidate should enjoy being around members, playing golf with members, teaching the game, running tournaments, developing programs, and being an active part of Club life.

Cedar Creek Country Club offers an opportunity to gain experience in virtually every aspect of a private‑club golf operation while having the ability to make a noticeable impact on the Club.

Experience Required
  • PGA membership or PGA Associate status preferred, but not required.
  • PGA Class A status is not required.
  • Previous experience working in golf operations.
  • Previous experience in golf operations, including the ability to independently organize and execute charity golf outings, competitive tournaments, and member events on a regular basis. Tournament management is an important part of our operation, with multiple events hosted each month.
  • Assistant Golf Professionals and candidates seeking their first golf leadership opportunity are encouraged to apply.
  • Private-club experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for the game of golf.
  • Friendly, outgoing, professional, and comfortable interacting with members and guests.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to be hands‑on in daily operations.
  • Understanding of operations, tee sheets, golf programming, merchandising, and golf instruction.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technology and club management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Club departments.
  • Strong playing ability preferred.
  • Golf instruction experience preferred but not required.
  • Desire to continue developing professionally within the golf industry.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the Golf Shop and golf services with support and direction from the General Manager.
  • Provide outstanding service to members and guests.
  • Develop strong relationships with members and maintain a visible presence around the Club.
  • Manage the daily tee sheet and assist members with tee times, guest arrangements, and golf‑related needs.
  • Help supervise and schedule Golf Shop and Outside Services staff.
  • Assist in training and developing golf operations employees.
  • Coordinate with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding daily course conditions, maintenance schedules, cart rules, and member communication.
  • Organize and execute Club tournaments, MGA and WGA events, Member‑Guest, Member‑Member, Club Championships, couples events, junior golf, and other programming.
  • Prepare tournament formats, pairings, scorecards, scoring, results, payouts, and member communications.
  • Work directly with the Men's and Women's Golf Associations to support their events and programs.
  • Develop fun and creative golf programs that encourage greater member participation.
  • Provide individual golf instruction, clinics, junior programs, and other instructional opportunities based on experience and ability.
  • Assist with Golf Shop merchandising, displays, inventory, ordering, and sales.
  • Manage cart operations, practice facilities, range operations, and Outside Services.
  • Help maintain appropriate pace of play and professionally administer Club golf policies.
  • Assist with outside tournaments and golf outings.
  • Work with the Food & Beverage team to coordinate tournament meals, events, and special functions.
  • Assist with prospective member tours, new‑member orientation, mixers, and other membership activities.
  • Promote golf programs through member communication, email, social media, and coordination with the Membership & Marketing team.
  • Look for opportunities to increase golf participation, membership engagement, tournament business, instruction, merchandise sales, and other golf‑related revenue.
  • Participate in budgeting, purchasing, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities as experience develops.
  • Represent Cedar Creek Country Club professionally both at the Club and within the community.
What We're Looking For

We're not necessarily looking for someone who has already spent 10 years running a large golf operation. We're looking for someone who wants the opportunity to be a part of our team.

The right candidate will:

  • Enjoy getting to know members personally.
  • Be comfortable behind the Golf Shop counter one minute and running a tournament the next.
  • Want to play golf with members and be part of the Club community.
  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to golf programming.
  • Take pride in creating a great member experience.
  • Be willing to learn from mistakes and continuously improve.
  • Communicate well and ask questions when needed.
  • Be comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions.
  • Work well with other departments.
  • Bring new ideas to the Club.
  • Have an interest in growing professionally within the golf industry.

For the right person, Cedar Creek Country Club provides an opportunity to build a résumé, develop leadership experience, grow a lesson business, learn the business side of club operations, and put their own stamp on a golf program.

Compensation & Benefits

Cedar Creek Country Club will offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.

Additional compensation and benefits include:

  • PGA education and professional development allowance
