Job summary

Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a Girls Softball Head Coach who will model Christian faith and character while investing in the lives of young women on and off the field.

Responsibilities include managing practices and games, teaching softball rules and strategies, evaluating players, coordinating with the Athletic Director to grow the program, and mentoring students spiritually. Contract runs March 22, 2027 through May 21, 2027; compensation commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage team-related activities during the season, including practices, games and equipment.
• Instruct the team in softball rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
• Evaluate athletes' skills, in order to determine their fitness and potential roles on the team.
• Plan and direct training and physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance.
• Communicate expectations and season details clearly with players and parents.
• Work with Athletic Director and other softball coaches to manage and grow the girls softball program at CCA.
• Encourage student athletes in their spiritual lives, and be willing to walk alongside and disciple students as they work out their faith in Jesus on and off the field.
• Drive students to away games in a CCA 15-passenger van.

CCA is seeking a Girls Softball Head Coach. Qualified candidates will demonstrate maturity of Christian faith and character, a love for students and the desire to invest in the lives of young women. They will have experience playing and coaching softball, and a love for the sport. They will maintain high standards of professional conduct, including but not limited to their ability to communicate with students, parents, opponents, and officials with clarity, integrity, and grace.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Manage team-related activities during the season, including practices, games and equipment.
• Instruct the team in softball rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
• Evaluate athletes' skills, in order to determine their fitness and potential roles on the team.
• Plan and direct training and physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance.
• Communicate expectations and season details clearly with players and parents.
• Work with Athletic Director and other softball coaches to manage and grow the girls softball program at CCA.

Applicants must be willing to sign CCA's Statement of Faith and Core Values, and maintain the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model and mentor both in and out of school, to students, parents, fellow faculty members and employees in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living.

Contract runs: March 22, 2027 through May 21, 2027
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
