Job summary

Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a Girls Middle School Basketball Head Coach to lead and develop the program with a strong emphasis on character, faith, and teamwork. The role requires coaching experience, a love for the sport, and the ability to mentor student-athletes on and off the court.

Responsibilities include planning practices, teaching game strategies, evaluating players, and coordinating with the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching girls’ basketball at middle school level.
• Demonstrates maturity of Christian faith and character.
• Strong communication with students, parents, and staff.
• Willingness to adhere to CCA’s Statement of Faith and Core Values.

• Encourage student athletes in their spiritual lives and mentor them in faith.
• Drive students to away games in a CCA 15-passenger van.

CCA is seeking a Girls Middle School Basketball Head Coach. Qualified candidates will demonstrate maturity of Christian faith and character, a love for students and the desire to invest in the lives of young women. They will have experience playing and coaching basketball, and a love for the sport. They will maintain high standards of professional conduct, including but not limited to their ability to communicate with students, parents, opponents, and officials with clarity, integrity, and grace.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Manage team-related activities during the season, including practices, games and equipment.
• Instruct the team in basketball rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
• Evaluate athletes' skills, in order to determine their fitness and potential roles on the team.
• Plan and direct training and physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance.
• Communicate expectations and season details clearly with players and parents
• Work with Athletic Director and other basketball coaches to manage and grow the girls basketball program at CCA
• Encourage student athletes in their spiritual lives, and be willing to walk alongside and disciple students as they work out their faith in Jesus on and off the field.
• Drive students to away games in a CCA 15-passenger van.

Applicants must be willing to sign CCA’s Statement of Faith and Core Values, and maintain the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model and mentor both in and out of school, to students, parents, fellow faculty members and employees in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living.

Contract runs: November 30, 2026 through February 11, 2027
Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Position will remain open until filled. Candidate interviews will be scheduled following review of requested material. Position may be filled at anytime through the search process once a desired candidate has been identified.
