The Forest Grove School District is seeking a Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Forest Grove High School in Oregon. The position begins March 1, 2027, and bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to support a diverse student body.

As Head Coach, you will lead the lacrosse program, supervise staff, manage transportation and equipment, and collaborate with the Athletic Director to meet district goals and policies while promoting student-athlete growth.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of lacrosse coaching techniques and supervision of students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to perform coaching responsibilities in line with school and district policies.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• OSAA trainings or ability to obtain them.

Head Girls Lacrosse Coach

Forest Grove High School – Forest Grove, Oregon.

The Forest Grove School District is seeking a Head Girls Lacrosse Coach. The position will begin March 1, 2027.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Position Summary

The job of “Head Coach” is to support the Forest Grove School District athletic objectives, policy of interscholastic athletics, and the District Athletic Code. Coaches organize and conduct athletic programs that meet the needs of the district and participants, ensuring all students can grow physically, intellectually, and socially.

Essential Responsibilities

• Exhibit exceptional integrity and character at all times
• Act as a positive role model in the school and community
• Cultivate a program culture that demands respect among participants
• Recruit students within the school to participate in the program
• Collaborate with and follow direction of the Athletic Director
• Organize the athletic program to align with District and OSAA goals and objectives for student-athletes
• Communicate with athletes in a respectful manner, avoiding profanity or derogatory language toward participants, officials, parents, or others
• Support the academic achievement of student-athletes
• Oversee assistant coaches in the program
• Participate in and support the youth program that feeds the high school program
• Demonstrate proper active supervision during all scheduled activities, including games, practice, locker room, and transportation
• Meet with players and parents before or at the beginning of the season to cover all participation expectations
• Commit to continued professional development and improvement of knowledge of skill development, training techniques, fundamentals, game strategy, and sport rules
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to arrange transportation and finances for contests
• Be accountable for expenditures and fundraising in accordance with District procedures and with written approval of the Athletic Director or Principal
• Follow current District procedures for handling program finances
• Be responsible for the care, distribution and collection of District equipment and supplies
• Report participant injuries to the Trainer following District procedures
• Develop and maintain a positive rapport with students, athletes, parents, and assistant coaches throughout the program
• Hire assistant coaches with support of the Athletic Director, meeting District hiring standards and procedures
• Collaborate with other District coaches to schedule opportunities for participants to access multiple activities and sports
• Encourage participants to pursue other sports and activities as desired
• Attend all required meetings with the Athletic Director, Principal, or league leadership
• Assume responsibility for the conduct and performance of program assistant coaches
• Report any behavior that endangers the physical, emotional, or mental safety of anyone in the program to the Athletic Director within 24 hours
• Develop and implement an off‑season program for athletes
• Cooperate and collaborate with Viking Booster Club on projects related to the athletic program
• Develop, articulate, and implement a vision for the specific sport program

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience and/or knowledge of lacrosse, coaching techniques, and student supervision
• Ability and willingness to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, parents, assistant coaches, and staff
• Ability and willingness to perform coaching responsibilities in accordance with school and District policies
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Current Concussion Management and other OSAA-required trainings, or ability to obtain them
• Maintain integrity of confidential information concerning students, staff, or District patrons
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and collaborate on solutions to concerns
• Successful completion of a criminal background check

Salary: $6,531 to $7,931 per year.
