Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• Must serve as a role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.
• Reports to the athletic director and principals in conjunction with high school leadership.
• Trains and informs staff; encourages clinic attendance according to local policy.
• Delegates duties, supervises implementation and evaluates assistants.
• Maintains discipline and increases morale and cooperation.
• Assists in scheduling, transportation, and tournament requirements.
• Provides guidance on injuries, medical attention, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the athletic director and principals.
• Supervises a staff of coaches and coordinates with booster clubs.
• Trains staff and encourages clinic attendance.
• Delegates duties and evaluates assistants at season's end.
• Maintains discipline and morale among staff and athletes.
• Assists athletic director with scheduling and events.
• Guides student-athletes in academics, conduct, and college planning.
• Manages equipment and budgeting for sports programs.
• Promotes the sport within the school and community.
