Job summary

Little Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge in Georgia seeks a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department, oversee maintenance, and ensure guest-ready facilities across lodge, cabins, restaurant, meeting spaces, and grounds.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage budgets, preventive maintenance programs, safety compliance, and the scheduling of shifts, while directing a skilled team to deliver reliable operations and exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in engineering, facilities management, or maintenance leadership.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and budgeting.
• Ability to read blueprints and equipment specifications.
• Experience with CMMS and office software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, train, and develop the Engineering Department staff.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program for all lodge facilities.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance projects, renovations, and capital initiatives.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and staffing; ensure timely completion.
• Maintain records of maintenance, utilities, and expenses.
• Ensure proper operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and kitchen systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Provide MOD coverage and assist during emergencies.
