Job summary

Eastside Dog Walking seeks its first Lead Dog Runner to expand its dog exercise footprint across the eastside. You will run with high-energy dogs and help build a reliable daily schedule as demand grows.

Ideal candidates are self-starters with a passion for animals and excellent client communication. Expect 15–20+ miles per day across multiple one-hour runs, with start times around 7am and a flexible path as the business scales.

Qualifications

• Proof of tracked runs: ~15 min miles ~200 miles per month.
• Compassion for animals and enrichment.
• Able to interact appropriately with professional clientele and their families.
• Extremely flexible to client and dog needs, and able to communicate with clients (ETA updates, vacations, post-run texts).
• Able to articulate your why and discuss your journey into the industry.
• Reliable transportation.
• Always on time with scheduling tools.
• Smartphone with camera and good battery life.

Responsibilities

• Run with dogs and expand service offering from medium to high energy dogs.
• Develop a full-time schedule as demand grows; start with a few clients and expand to 5–6 hours of walks per day.
• Begin around 7am and finish by 4pm where possible.
• operate with a marketing budget designed to secure well-behaved high-energy dogs.
• Cycle in existing clients as the team grows and a second walker joins.
