Job summary

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, is seeking a Head Disc Golf Coach for its club team. This part-time role runs from September 1 to May 15, overseeing recruitment, practice planning, and coaching during games. The coach leads skill development, manages team activities, and ensures safety and well-being of student-athletes.

Responsibilities include mentoring players, attending competitions, and representing the program at community events. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1-3 years coaching at high school, prep, junior, or collegiate level.
• Willing and available to work nights and weekends (majority of games Fri-Sun).
• Experience with diverse staff, including college-age students.
• Must maintain coaching certification or have ability to acquire certification.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain players and evaluate potential recruits.
• Plan and conduct practices to improve performance.
• Coaching during games and provide strategic guidance.
• Manage team activities and administrative duties.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and athlete well-being.
• Foster communication between players, coaches, and staff.
• Represent the team at community events and build program support.
• Uphold the university's mission and values.
