Under the supervision of the Youth Program Director, the Head Counselor is responsible for leading the management and development of assigned staff and campers.
They will support, develop, and coach all assigned staff under their direction, as well as give leadership to camp programs as a whole. They have the responsibility for all aspects of the assigned programs when the Director or other program leadership is unavailable.
They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
Job Schedule (Days): Monday - Friday
Job Schedule (Time): 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. (35-40 hour work week)
Additional Information: The position is a seasonal position designed for candidates who can work during WCPSS' Track 4 Break Schedule:
- October 7-23
- January 4-22
- March 29-April 16
Preferred candidates should have flexibility to work early morning and/or late afternoon shifts. We will also have opportunities for the candidate to serve in other capacities within other departments.
In addition to this hourly rate, you will receive an additional $2/hour when working in the Before School program .
