Job description

The Silver Crown is looking for an exceptional, hands on leader to run our kitchen program. You won’t be micromanaged; instead you’ll have the freedom to build a menu and kitchen that you’ll be proud of. You’ll have a real seat at the leadership table, helping to meaningfully chart our course.

Who you are:

  • Passionate about exceptional food – you insist on every plate being just right.
  • You’re as excited about serving the classics, as you are inventing something entirely new.
  • The details matter to you. Every dish needs to be exceptional.
  • You truly care about service. You know that uncomfortable moment when your order is taking too long, and you have to flag down the server to complain? Yah…you hate that, and you’ll make sure our customers don’t have that experience.
  • You respect your staff, because you know without them, you can’t be successful.
  • You’re kind and friendly towards both your customers and your co-workers.
  • Able to work physically in the kitchen, sometimes for long shifts.
  • You appreciate being respected and trusted, and understand the responsibility that comes along with that.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the kitchen program. Drive the menu, relentlessly demanding exceptional dishes from both yourself and your staff.
  • Help manage your staff: hiring, training, scheduling, the works.
  • Help manage inventory. Receiving, ordering, physical inventories, ensuring ingredient availability, and minimizing loss.
  • Cook! You’re the sort who is as excited to be hands on as you are to lead.
  • Work alongside ownership, who will also be around full time. …I know, but don’t worry. They’re humble, friendly, respectful, and know when to lead vs get out of the way.

What you’ve done:

  • 5+ years of experience as a hands-on cook
  • 3+ years in leadership roles as a head cook, chef etc, with experience in managing staff, inventory, and customer service
