Job summary

Nike Beaverton is seeking a Lead Designer, Core Studio Color Design to shape the color direction of Nike Performance Footwear. You will define color strategy, lead a design team, and collaborate across Design, Marketing, Merchandising, and Development to deliver compelling color narratives.

The role requires a strong background in color design for multiple product lines, excellent communication, and the ability to influence brand storytelling at a global level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
• Minimum 4-6 years of technically challenging color design experience.
• Understanding of color trends, technical color knowledge as related to product creation, color compatibility, and color application.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage complexity across multiple product lines, ensuring color execution is intentional, accurate, and consistent from concept through commercialization.
• Familiarity with product manufacturing processes including materials/fabrics; trims; dye techniques.
• Strong verbal, written, visual, and high-profile communication skills in local market language.
• Ability to network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources as well as to articulate how color can affect product and sales.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive color strategy across Nike's performance footwear franchises.
• Lead Core Studio Footwear Color Design team; plan designs and palettes.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Marketing, Merchandising, Development to create solutions.
• Mentor and grow a team of color designers.
• Influence brand direction through color storytelling.
