LIU is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead its NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball program as Head Coach. This full-time position, based on the Brooklyn campus, is responsible for the overall direction, leadership, and development of the volleyball program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to building a competitive and inclusive team culture, fostering the academic and athletic success of student-athletes, and upholding the values and standards of LIU Athletics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all aspects of the women’s volleyball program, including training, game planning, and competitive performance.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and retain student-athletes who embody the academic and athletic standards of LIU.
  • Support student-athlete development on and off the court, including academic success, leadership, and well-being.
  • Ensure program compliance with all NCAA, Northeast Conference (NEC), and LIU regulations and policies.
  • Oversee the management of team operations, including budget, travel, scheduling, and equipment.
  • Hire, supervise, and develop assistant coaches and support staff.
  • Coordinate scouting, video breakdown, and opponent preparation.
  • Engage with alumni, campus departments, and community partners to promote the program.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and mutual respect within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of successful collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing student-athletes.
  • Strong understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
