Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking a Girls Soccer Varsity Head Coach to lead the program under the Athletic Director and building principal. The role requires strong leadership, a track record in teaching and coaching, and collaboration with students, faculty, and parents to build a competitive program.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate (Type 03, 09, or 10) OR ASEP/NFHS Certification.
• CPR/AED certification for coaches as required by IHSA/state law.
• IHSA concussion awareness training and safety protocols.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
• Completion of Title IX training.
• In-depth knowledge of the sport and coaching experience.
• Strong instructional skills in fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning.
• Commitment to a diverse, inclusive athletic program.
• Coaching Certification required for non-teaching staff (ASEP/NFHS/IHSA-approved).
• Concussion certification valid for two years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the program.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Foster an inclusive environment for students, faculty, coaches, and parents.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Inspire student-athletes and staff with professionalism.
• Plan and implement training programs based on best practices.
• Instruct athletes and assistants in skills, strategies, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with IHSA, ISBE, and Title IX.
• Collaborate to develop a competitive annual game schedule.
• Manage equipment and inventory; ensure proper use and care.
