Job summary

Milford High School is seeking a Head Coach Indoor Track to lead the program starting November 2026 after the DIAA schedule. The coach will work with assistant coaches to plan daily practices, develop competitive strategies, and promote positive sportsmanship and athlete development.

This position requires adherence to HAC, DIAA and school district policies, oversight of safety and facilities, monitoring athletes' academic progress, managing equipment, and effective communication with parents,

Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the sport.
  • Understands how the program relates to athletes and the school.

Responsibilities

  • Works with assistant coaches to plan and implement organized daily practice plans.
  • Suggests adaptations to coaching techniques, strategies and game plans.
  • Promotes positive public relations with parents and the community.
  • Maintains an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
  • Supports game preparation in strategy and player motivation.
  • Complies with HAC, DIAA and district policies.
  • Communicates pre, during, and post-season information to players, parents, and school officials.
  • Maintains and inventories equipment and uniforms.
  • Monitors academic performance of athletes.
  • Assists in purchasing equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
  • Oversees safety of the facility used for the sport.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position: Head Coach Indoor Track
Location: Milford High School
Reports To: Principal & Athletic Director
Starting Date: November 2026 following DIAA Schedule
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrate a proficiency in the sport.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship of the program to the athlete, total athletic program and the total school program.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Works collaboratively with assistant coaches to plan and implement organized daily practice plans
  • Suggests adaptations and modifications to coaching techniques, strategies and game plans.
  • Promotes and maintains positive public relations with parents and the community.
  • Helps to provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
  • Supports in preparation for each game in strategy and player motivation.
  • Complies with all HAC, DIAA, and school district policies.
  • Aids in communication of pre, post and in season information to players, parents, and school officials.
  • Helps to maintain and inventory all equipment and uniforms.
  • Monitors and evaluates academic performance of all athletes.
  • Assists in recommending purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
  • Assists in overseeing the safety of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that relate to this position.
Evaluation:

Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
