Gooding High School is seeking a passionate coach to lead the Girls High School Wrestling program. The role requires guidance in wrestling technique, conditioning, and creating a positive, inclusive team culture.

You will organize practices, coordinate competitions and travel, mentor athletes, and work with staff to support student-athletes academically and athletically. Evening/weekend availability, driver’s license, and a background check are required.

Qualifikationen

• Proven high school coaching experience or higher in wrestling.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate student-athletes and foster a positive team culture.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain quickly.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion in sports.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and staff.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends for practices and events.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for competitions.
• Pass a background check with Idaho State Department of Education.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan for the girls’ wrestling team.
• Organize daily practices with a focus on skill development and conditioning.
• Coordinate with assistant coaches to form a cohesive coaching team.
• Mentor student-athletes in wrestling and life skills with emphasis on sportsmanship.
• Schedule meets, tournaments, and travel while adhering to policies.
• Communicate team expectations and updates to athletes, parents, and admins.
• Monitor academic progress and encourage scholastic achievement.
• Foster inclusivity and ensure broad participation.
• Maintain records of performance, attendance, and progress.
• Stay current with wrestling trends through ongoing professional development.
