Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma is required.
• Knowledge of MHSAA rules and the competitive sport.
• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
• Provide training direction, motivation, and nutritional advice to prepare athletes.
• Adjust coaching techniques based on athletes' strengths and weaknesses.
• Instruct individuals or groups in sports rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
• Plan strategies and select team members for games or seasons.
• Monitor academic eligibility of student athletes.
• Advise student athletes on academic, athletic, and school issues.
• Analyze strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams to develop game strategies.
• Explain and demonstrate equipment use and ensure safe use.
• Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, and philosophies in the sport.
• Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
• Communicate with parents to provide information and answer questions.
• Arrange training camps, skill-improvement courses, clinics, and pre-season try-outs.
• Ability to withstand the strain of the position.
• Other such qualifications deemed necessary.

• Explain and demonstrate the use of sports and training equipment, monitor athletes' use of equipment to ensure safe and proper use.
• Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to their sport.
• Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
• Communicate with parents of players to provide information and answer questions.
