Job summary

Birmingham Public Schools is seeking a Coach for the Boys Varsity Volleyball team for the 2026-27 season. The role involves creating a program of excellence that is positive, safe, educational and sportsmanlike, plus organizing regular season practices and pre-season conditioning.

The position requires oversight of all levels (Freshman, JV, Varsity) and supervising sub-varsity staff while coordinating with parents and the Booster Club.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a program of excellence that is positive, safe, educational and sportsmanlike.
• Organize and plan regular season practice and training.
• Organize and plan pre-season work-outs, conditioning and camps as permitted by the MHSAA.
• General oversight and direction of the entire program (Freshman, JV and Varsity)
• Supervise sub-varsity coaching staff.
• Work with parents' booster club to support the team.
• Foster positive relationships with parents and community members.
• Report to Athletic Director and Principal.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Principal
