Core Responsibilities:

  1. Kitchen Leadership:
  2. Oversee high-volume meal production with consistency in quality, flavor, and presentation.
  3. Conduct performance reviews and handle disciplinary actions as needed to maintain a professional and productive work environment.
  4. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and quality in workflows.
  5. Provide weekly reports on team productivity and kitchen operations to leadership.
  6. Menu Development & Costing:
  7. Design and refine creative, nutritionally balanced menus tailored to client preferences and aligned with sustainability principles.
  8. Ensure all menus are cost-effective and meet company profit margins while maintaining quality standards.
  9. Meal Prep & Delivery Coordination:
  10. Oversee the preparation of meals for delivery, ensuring that orders are packaged, labeled, and stored correctly for freshness and easy transport.
  11. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate meal distribution.
  12. Vendor Coordination & Inventory Oversight:
  13. Liaise with vendors to negotiate pricing and maintain the availability of high-quality organic ingredients, including produce, meat, and seafood.
  14. Collaborate with the Sous Chef to manage inventory and ordering, overseeing accuracy and minimizing waste.
  15. Health & Safety Compliance:
  16. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations, including sanitation practices, temperature monitoring, and proper storage protocols. Ensure the commercial kitchen space is organized and spotless at all times to uphold operational standards.
  17. Delivery Support:
  18. Support meal delivery operations, including using personal vehicle to assist with deliveries on Sundays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Culinary training or certification is required.
  2. Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume or meal delivery environment.
  3. Proficiency in food costing and budget management.
  4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of kitchen operations.
  5. Excellent time management skills to meet production timelines.
  6. Respectful and professional communication skills, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  7. Adaptability to changes in the work environment and the ability to problem-solve on the go.
  8. Knowledge of sustainability practices and a commitment to following them.
  9. Strong dedication to providing superior customer service and consistently exceeding expectations.
