Job summary

Upper Darby High School in Drexel Hill, PA is seeking an experienced Head Cheerleading Coach for an extra-duty, part-time role starting immediately. The position emphasizes coaching excellence, character development, and high standards of sportsmanship within a diverse student body.

Responsibilities include leading practices, mentoring student-athletes, coordinating equipment, and collaborating with the Director of Athletics and athletic trainers.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience, preferably at high school or college level.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of and experience coaching the sport, including competitions and practices.
• CPR and first aid certified or the ability to become certified.
• Meets criteria for employment in PA Public School.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods; may lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead the head cheerleading program, including daily practices and competition preparation.
• Demonstrate effective coaching technique, leadership and mentoring skills; relate well within the school community.
• Establish and maintain relationships with coaches, athletic administrators, students, parents and the community.
• Coordinate team equipment; keep accurate scorebooks and records as required.
• Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and athletic trainer on safety and injuries.
