Job summary

Drexel Hill Middle School is hiring a part-time Cheerleading Coach to lead practices, mentor student-athletes, and promote sportsmanship within the Upper Darby School District. The coach will work under the Director of Athletics to ensure safe, engaging practices and competitive performance.

Qualified candidates will have prior coaching experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to connect with students across diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience, preferably at high school/college level.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong character with a team-oriented spirit and connection with students.
• Knowledge of sport, competitions, practices, and conditioning.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to become certified.
• Clearances: Act 34, Act 151, FBI fingerprints; PA public school eligibility.
• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Reports To: Director of Athletics.
• Lead daily practice, skills development, and character growth.
• Manage team equipment, scorebook, and transportation logistics.
• Communicate with athletes and parents regularly.
• Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to support athletes.
