Job summary

LA Catholics High School is seeking a dedicated Cheer Coach to lead and manage the school's cheer program, promoting teamwork, school spirit, safety, and academic achievement.

You will plan practices, teach stunts and routines, supervise events, manage equipment and budgets, and ensure compliance with district policies and safety standards while fostering an inclusive team culture.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred) and relevant coaching or cheer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead practices, conditioning sessions, tryouts, camps, and team meetings.
  • Teach age-appropriate cheers, dances, stunts, tumbling, and routines.
  • Supervise cheerleaders at practices, games, competitions, pep rallies, and school events.
  • Follow all safety standards and maintain current knowledge of cheerleading rules and techniques.
  • Select team members fairly and establish clear expectations for conduct, attendance, and performance.
  • Coordinate schedules, transportation, uniforms, equipment, fundraising, and competition registration.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, school administrators, athletic staff, and event organizers.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful team culture that supports student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Maintain required records, including eligibility, attendance, medical information, permissions, and incident reports.
  • Manage the program budget and inventory, as assigned.
  • Follow district policies, athletic association rules, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Complete other related duties assigned by the athletic director or school administration.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Previous cheerleading, coaching, dance, gymnastics, or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cheerleading safety, spotting, stunting, tumbling, and conditioning practices.
Wage Range

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
