Job Description

Save More Food Market is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Head Cashier / Front-End Supervisor to help lead our Front-End team and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

This position plays a key role in supporting daily Front-End operations, supervising cashiers and customer service associates, creating daily and weekly employee schedules, and maintaining efficient checkout operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, takes initiative, and can effectively balance customer service, employee supervision, and daily operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Front-End management with daily operations, employee supervision, and overall department performance.
• Create and maintain daily and weekly employee schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing based on business needs and labor expectations.
• Coordinate daily break and lunch schedules to maintain adequate checkout coverage.
• Supervise cashiers, baggers, and customer service associates to ensure productivity and excellent customer service.
• Monitor checkout lanes and adjust staffing to minimize customer wait times.
• Assist with employee training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Handle customer concerns, refunds, exchanges, and other service-related issues professionally.
• Support cash handling procedures, register balancing, cash pickups, and drawer accountability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, attendance expectations, and operating procedures.
• Monitor employee performance and communicate staffing or operational concerns to management.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the checkout and customer service areas.
• Assist with opening and closing Front-End procedures.
• Serve as a leader on duty for the Front End when management is unavailable.

Job Requirements

• Previous cashier, customer service, or retail supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to create and manage employee schedules.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, and point-of-sale equipment.
• Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with cash handling and employee scheduling.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and assist with physical Front-End duties.
