Job Summary

Head Cashiers provide excellent customer service at the Point of Sale (POS), ensuring fast, friendly, and accurate transactions, maintaining cash control, and safeguarding assets. They adhere to procedural guidelines and embody Pete’s Four Pillars of Value: Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service.

Essential Job Requirements

• Knowledge of produce, bakery codes, sale items, coupon policies, and store policies.
• Handle receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks, and cash transactions.
• Operate cash register, maintain checkout area, and ensure service standards.
• Assist with stocking, customer assistance, and cleaning as needed.
• Manage cash tills, check-out functions, and station cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Respond to customer requests, complaints, and ensure cash availability.
• Serve as primary contact for cashiers and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 0-3 years retail experience.
• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Strong cash handling and math skills.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and team skills.

Physical and Work Environment

• Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 75 lbs., and work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
