Essential Functions:

NOTE: Minors in this role may not be responsible for some activities listed below.

Assisted Self Check Out

• Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers.
• Interact proactively with customers to recommend products and services.
• Greet, assist, and engage with customers across multiple registers.
• Move throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to ensure transaction accuracy.
• Thank customers and invite them to return to Lowe’s.

Customer Service

• Deliver SMART customer service adhering to Lowe's policies and procedures.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Respond promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee inquiries.
• Express sincere appreciation to customers.
• Communicate product, warranty, and service information effectively.
• Train and coach team members on departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Use cash registers for transactions, returns, and refunds following company guidelines.
• Handle monetary exchanges and support front-end team members.
• Remove security tags, verify product info, and bag merchandise.
• Answer and direct incoming calls.
• Open additional registers as needed to ensure efficient checkout processes.
• Assist in line vesting to reduce checkout times.

In-stock

• Prepare register area at shift start/end, check functionality, and restock supplies.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
• Enter and process customer orders, verify receipts, and sign off on loading tickets.
• Manage online orders and returned merchandise appropriately.
• Verify pricing and price match with competitors.
• Record store use items on the inventory list.

Clean and Safe Stores

• Monitor cash and obtain safety bags from the cash office.
• Observe store entrances/exits for security and assist with alarms.
• Identify and report shoplifting and security risks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization per safety standards.
• Ensure a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and hazard identification.
• Operate store equipment as per role requirements.

General

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of experience with computer use.
• Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology.
• 1-2 years of retail cashier experience.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.

Preferences:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in product sales, customer needs assessment, and explaining warranties and features.
• Experience as a head cashier and in Lowe’s store departments.
• Supervisory experience including training and coaching.
• Experience in shoplifting detection.
