Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

1. Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
2. Assist with customer assistance issues at the register.
3. Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and uphold cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots.
4. Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
5. Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements.
6. Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and take necessary disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

1. Be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training.
2. Be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
3. Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills.
4. Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
5. Communicate effectively, take direction, and work well in a team.
6. Perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
7. Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for up to 50 hours.
8. Demonstrate strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and cash handling skills.
