Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
• Assist with customer assistance issues at the register.
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and uphold cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots.
• Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and state laws.
• Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers, and take disciplinary actions when necessary.

Qualifications

To be a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior, maintain a positive attitude, and interact well with customers as a role model.
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Possess good communication skills, able to follow directions and participate in a team environment.
• Perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs., and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for specified distances and durations.
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and skills in cash handling and mathematics.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $16.70 - $22.55/hour, determined by experience and qualifications.
