Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist with customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and uphold cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and state requirements
• Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and take necessary disciplinary actions

Qualifications

To be a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience with leadership training
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Exhibit an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team
• Perform repetitive activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force for specified distances and durations
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and cash handling skills
