Job summary

Lansing School District is seeking athletic coaches to lead our teams throughout the season and beyond. Coaches will recruit a full team, implement competitive play, and ensure academic success for all players within MHSAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include organizing practice schedules, coordinating with the Athletic Director, and leading offseason conditioning and clinics for team and community members. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience is required.
• Knowledge of high-quality coaching tactics and drills.
• Familiarity with MHSAA and LSD rules and policies.
• CPR certification and first aid training.
• Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values.
• Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate.
• Successful NCAA athletic career.

Responsibilities

• Recruit a full team by the first day of the season and conduct tryouts if necessary.
• Coach the team to a competitive record and postseason readiness.
• Ensure student-athletes are academically eligible and achieve success throughout the season.
• Organize offseason training opportunities and prepare within-season tutoring as needed.
• Collaborate with Athletic Director to schedule practices and games and manage equipment.
