Job summary

Lansing School District in Lansing, MI is seeking athletic coaches to lead our teams for the upcoming season. Coaches will recruit, train, and compete while ensuring players’ academic eligibility and adherence to district and MHSAA policies.

Responsibilities include organizing practices and schedules with the Athletic Director, managing equipment, and providing offseason training opportunities. We welcome candidates with coaching experience and a Michigan teaching certificate.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include coaching experience, knowledge of high-quality coaching tactics and practice drills, CPR certification, and knowledge of MHSAA rules.
Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values is required.

Responsibilities

Lead and support your team(s) throughout the entire season.
Recruit a full team of players by the first day of the season and run competitive tryouts if necessary.
Coach your team(s) to a winning record and postseason success.
Ensure all players are academically eligible and successful throughout the season.
Organize and communicate practice and game schedules with the Athletic Director.
Maintain and distribute team equipment and jerseys at season start and end.
Organize offseason conditioning, training, and clinics for team and community members.
Abide by all MHSAA policies and regulations.
Perform other duties to support the Lansing School District mission.
