Job summary

Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a Head Advisor for CRLS Athletics. The role reports to the Director of Athletics and the CRLS Principal and oversees coaching, discipline, and policy implementation across the athletic program.

You will supervise staff, attend department meetings, stay current on rule changes, and ensure safe facilities while coordinating with media and the Athletic Director. This position emphasizes outreach to the community and youth sport development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Previous successful playing and/or coaching experience required.
• CPR/AED Certification, First Aid Certification, Concussion Certification, Implicit Bias Certification and MIAA Coaching Education Requirements.
• State requirements and CORI/fingerprint background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Model the National Federation Codes of Ethics and promote sportsmanship.
• Have full control of the team in coaching and athletic discipline.
• Implement department policies and safety procedures for facilities and equipment.
• Supervise all assistant coaches and attend relevant meetings.
• Develop organized daily practice plans with warm-up and cool-down routines.
• Ensure safe facilities and equipment and proper safety procedures.
• Coordinate game plans, medical forms, and eligibility reports.
• Assist with securing financial aid or scholarships based on athletics.
