Job summary

The Frederick Gunn School in Connecticut is seeking a Head Baseball Coach to lead a competitive program while upholding the school's character-centered mission.

The role includes player development, game planning, recruitment, and collaboration with Admissions and athletics staff to build a strong baseball pipeline. The position may expand to 10 months and could pair with the Admissions role.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching baseball at high school, collegiate, or elite club level.
• Proven success in student-athlete recruitment and program development.
• Familiarity with boarding school environment and culture.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental baseball skills and position-specific instruction.
• Design and oversee structured daily practice plans.
• Formulate game strategies and manage lineups and rotations.
• Coordinate with athletic trainers on player health.
• Instill sportsmanship and leadership aligned with mission.
• Assist student-athletes pursuing college baseball.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes in collaboration with Admissions.
• Oversee team logistics, including gear and travel.
• Supervise assistant coaches and student managers.
• Enforce NEPSAC rules and school policies.
• Maintain regular communication with school leaders and parents.
