Job summary

Sheridan High School is seeking a Head Baseball Coach to lead program planning, recruiting, and player development. The role requires coaching knowledge, CHSAA certification, and the ability to mentor student athletes and manage equipment and budgets.

The seasonal, on-site position reports to the Athletic/Activities Director and includes responsibilities from recruiting to game-day leadership, with a focus on academics, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of coaching, teaching, and training techniques.
• Ability to work as part of a coaching staff.
• Role includes teaching skills and developing integrity, hard work, and responsibility.
• Coaches renew annually; August–April cycle; equipment maintenance is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct recruiting activities to maximize student involvement.
• Attend Athletic Director meetings and communicate with parents.
• Develop practice plans for incremental skill development and team cohesion.
• Monitor academics and ensure student eligibility.
• Provide feedback to student athletes and manage equipment/uniforms.
• Motivate and coordinate the work of assistant coaches and staff.
• Ensure timely submission of rosters and reports.
• Foster sportsmanship and professional behavior at practices and games.
