Job summary

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools in Dassel, Minnesota, is seeking a Head Baseball Coach to lead the high school program. You will coach, mentor, and develop student-athletes, emphasizing skill development, tactics, and physical conditioning.

You will model ethical conduct, uphold the Minnesota State High School League Code of Ethics, attend all practices and games, and collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe, competitive program.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport
• Continuously examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes on fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning for success
• Demonstrate behaviors that promote character development, self-discipline, confidence and pride
• Perform duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director
• Promote fair play and adherence to the MSISL Code of Ethics
• Attend all competitions and training sessions regularly
• Instruct student-athletes in rules and developments in coaching

Duties

• Instruct athletes on fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success
• Demonstrate and instruct behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, confidence, and pride of accomplishments in student athletes
• Perform various duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director
• Generate an attitude of fair play for adhering to the Minnesota State High School League “Code of Ethics”
• Be in regular attendance at all competitions and training sessions
• Instruct student/athlete in rules, rule changes, new developments and innovative ideas in coaching

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of all athletic policies and implementation by the entire staff on the program
• State and league regulations; implements the same consistency with all staff
• Have understanding knowledge of rules and regulations as presented by the Minnesota State High School League.
