About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Baker to join our team. As the Head Baker, you will play a vital role in leading our baking operations and ensuring the consistent production of high-quality artisanal baked goods.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the daily operations of the bakery, including production planning, quality control, and inventory management
  • Develop and refine recipes for breads, pastries, and other baked items to ensure they meet our high standards of taste and presentation
  • Train, manage, and mentor a team of skilled bakers and pastry chefs to continuously improve their skills and techniques
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative baked goods that align with our brand vision and customer preferences
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations in the bakery
  • Monitor and optimise production processes to maximise efficiency and minimise waste

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Head Baker or in a similar leadership role within the baking industry
  • Proven expertise in crafting a wide range of artisanal breads, pastries, and other baked goods
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, equipment, and food safety regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to effectively manage a busy bakery operation

  • Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities to motivate and train a skilled baking team
  • Degree or diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts or a related culinary field would be an advantage
