Job description

Welcome to the first Jeff's Bagel Run in Illinois! We are looking for an enthusiastic Head Baker who will be the bagel maestro Downer's Grove has been waiting for. As a baker, you will be the one whipping up the secret recipes that make Jeff's Bagel Run the best in the biz! Restaurant or bakery experience is a bonus, but we fully train you to execute our process. A great candidate will be disciplined, fast, and take pride in consistency, delivering amazing bagels every day.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the importance of all baking procedures and recipes
• Prepping and baking bagels
• Whippin' up the best bagels ever
• Making all dough mixtures in a timely manner using correct procedures
• Understand the rotation and shelf life of raw dough
• Operate machinery to mix, knead, and shape dough
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Other potential workload includes: cream cheese scooping, vegetable chopping, cookie baking, dishes, general cleaning, and front of house service when needed.

Qualifications:

• Must be willing to work in a small, hot space, boiling and baking bagels to keep up with high demand.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and move quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Must be able to start work as early as 4 am.
• Weekend availability required.

Compensation: $14 - $15 hourly
