Job summary

The Christ School is seeking a Head Athletic Coach to lead and develop student-athletes across multiple sports. This role reports to the Director of Athletics and supports the school's mission through faith-driven leadership and excellence in sport.

You will organize tryouts, oversee equipment, and communicate with families and officials while promoting high character, teamwork, and physical growth in a faith-centered community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates proficiency with Google Suite tools (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to traverse uneven ground and manage athletic environments.
• Able to ascend/descend stairs and lift 10–15 pounds as needed.
• Reliable transportation to and from practices and events.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive environment for student-athletes to learn and grow in their sport.
• Host tryouts and evaluations to select candidates for the season.
• Manage equipment and facilities for practices and games.
• Communicate effectively with parents, officials, and Athletics Director.
• Host development clinics to foster growth and culture of the sport.

A TCS Teacher/Staff Exhibits

• A deep faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and acceptance of the authority of Scriptures as a guide for faith and living
• Actively pursues spiritual growth through personal devotions, Bible study, church involvement, etc.
• Understand and actively support The Christ School's mission, vision, and defining characteristics
• Proficiency in GoogleSuite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar)

• Must be able to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs and transport about 10-15 pounds
  

General Responsibilities

• Create a positive environment for student-athletes to learn and grow in the sport they are passionate about
• Hosts tryouts and evaluations in order to select appropriate candidates for the upcoming sports season
• Manages Equipment
• Communicates effectively with parents, officials, and the Athletics Director
• Hosts development clinics (1-2 per school year) for ages 5-14 to help the growth and culture of the sport at TCS

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in the sport they are coaching
• Strong background and professional development in their sport
• Evidence and articulate a faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
• Understand and actively support The Christ School's mission, vision, and defining characteristics
• Proficiency in Google Suite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar), GameChanger
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to effectively traverse possibly uneven ground to manage students
• Must be able to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs and transport about 10-15 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk, and to reach overhead

Special Requirements

• Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
• First Aid and CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment. (Can be provided by employer)
• Previous proven Head or Assistant Coaching involvement at the interscholastic or club level.
