Job summary

Paycom in Kingdom City, MO is seeking an HDD Operator / Locator to operate horizontal directional drilling equipment and locating systems for underground utilities. You will read prints, monitor bore depth and alignment, and perform potholing and conduit installation.

Required qualifications include a valid Class A CDL, HDD experience, ability to read utility prints and markings, and readiness to pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Previous HDD experience and ability to operate HDD equipment and locate drill heads.
• Ability to read utility prints, bore plans, and utility markings.
• Understanding HDD fundamentals including depth, pitch, steering, reaming, and pullback.
• Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate HDD equipment for underground utility installation.
• Locate and track the drill head throughout the bore.
• Monitor depth, pitch, direction, and bore alignment.
• Read utility prints, bore plans, and utility markings.
• Perform potholing, reaming, pullback, and conduit installation.
• Adjust drilling techniques based on soil conditions, obstacles, and existing utilities.
• Operate supporting equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and vac equipment as needed.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Follow OSHA, DOT, company, and damage-prevention requirements.
• Complete required equipment logs and job documentation.
