Position Summary

The HDD Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, and remove waste materials.

  • Ensure all project work is compliant with installation standards and is being performed safely and correctly.
  • Promote and monitor the safety of team members.
  • Prepare sites to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures.
  • Clean debris, trash and hazardous materials from construction sites.
  • Dig trenches as instructed.
  • Assist in installing drill tooling and pipe.
  • Place traffic signs to warn traffic of construction in process.
  • Clean and maintain construction equipment appropriately.
  • Load and unload equipment from trucks.
  • Fill potholes to facilitate the construction process.
  • Ensure that all work is being done in compliance with the company's protocols.
  • Train apprentices and new hires in construction labor work.
  • Use hand tools to cut and shape material as per instructions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree (required).
  • Knowledge of directional drilling techniques and standards, has limited experience (preferred).
  • Must have valid drivers license and be willing and able to obtain Class A CDL License with tanker endorsement in 6 months (required).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
  • Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Agility and flexibility to navigate construction sites and access work areas, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
