Job summary

Utilities One Group is seeking an experienced Drill Operator for the Pacific Northwest region, based in Portland, OR. The role focuses on HDD procedures, underground utility installation, and site coordination across diverse projects.

Requires 3+ years HDD experience and a valid Class A CDL, with capability to operate heavy drilling equipment and read engineering plans. Weekly pay, company-provided tools, and opportunities for advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HDD/Drilling experience required.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment, especially drilling and boring machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and ride in vehicles for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in all-weather environments and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparatory work before drilling operations.
• Operate HDD machines for underground cable installation.
• Install underground utilities including boring and trenching.
• Locate utilities using a locating system.
• Remove and transfer poles, set and install new underground cables.
• Ensure proper clearances and safety when installing utilities.
• Maintain public safety and protect underground facilities.
• Analyze job sites and complete required paperwork.
• Investigate service complaints and perform repairs.
• Travel to job sites and perform tasks with quality and professionalism.
• Perform other duties to support project completion.
