Job summary

Waste Pro is hiring for a shop-based technician at Mt. Holly, NC. You will perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on diesel, gasoline, and CNG systems across heavy- and light-duty trucks, including chassis and body components.

You’ll assist drivers with pre/post trip inspections and coordinate with A & B technicians to prevent future issues. The role emphasizes safe work practices, accurate documentation, and ongoing skills development with tools and manuals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance on heavy and light trucks.
• Ability to assist drivers with post-trip and safety inspections.
• Ability to identify visible repairs on vehicles (lights, leaks, body damage).
• Familiarity with lubrication charts for waste trucks.
• Ability to learn brake inspection procedures and document results.

Responsibilities

• Aid drivers in daily post-trip and vehicle safety inspections.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform lubrication and repair of lubrication points.
• Learn and perform brake inspection procedures and documentation.
• Perform basic repairs on heavy and light duty trucks and related systems.
• Communicate issues with technicians/drivers to minimize future repairs.
• Complete paperwork and time entries accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area compliant with OSHA.
