Job summary

Boomtown Casino Biloxi is seeking an EVS team member to clean and maintain casino areas. You will operate carpet shampooers and buffers, move furniture, and haul trash while upholding safety standards and delivering friendly customer service.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to read simple instructions. Stamina and teamwork are essential for this on-site role at our Biloxi location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to operate sweeping and carpet shampooing equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean casino common areas (excluding kitchen) and bar areas.
• Operate carpet shampooer, buffer, and related cleaning equipment.
• Move furniture, transport trash, and report issues to EVS Supervisor.
• Adhere to safety standards and exhibit friendly, courteous behavior.

WE LOVE OUR WORK.

• Mixes chemicals and operates carpet shampooer and buffer.
• Moves furniture and cleans assigned area.
• Maintains and cleans machines after use.
• Maintains general cleaning of the entire casino (excluding kitchen) and bar areas.
• Transports all trash.
• Reports any problems to EVS Supervisor.
• Adheres to all company, department policies, procedures and safety standards.
• Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow team members.
• Performs any and all duties as assigned by EVS Supervisor or Facilities Director.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and fellow team members.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• The ability to operate sweeping and shampooing equipment.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must be able to obtain a Gaming Permit. Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course.
