Job summary

The South Carolina State Housing Finance & Development Authority (SC Housing) seeks a dedicated professional to administer the Housing Choice Voucher Program across multiple counties. You will determine eligibility, conduct annual and interim recertifications, and coordinate landlord relations to ensure program success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with relevant full-time housing subsidy experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in business/finance or related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid SC driver's license and willingness to travel statewide.

Responsibilities

• Assess eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher Program per HUD/SC Housing rules.
• Perform lease-up actions and recertifications for participating families and units.
• Coordinate physical inspections to ensure HUD NSPIRE standards compliance.
• Negotiate Housing Assistance Payments with landlords and verify rent reasonableness.
• Interact daily with applicants, participants, and landlords to ensure compliance.
• Conduct landlord outreach and public relations regarding program availability.
• Monitor participation to maximize program utilization.
• Obtain NSPIRE inspector certification and eligibility/income/rent calculation cert within 1 year.

Education

High School Diploma

Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting/Finance

Excellent verbal and written communication

Multi-tasking and time management

Customer service and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of personal computers, Windows, MS Office
