As part of the Sales & Marketing team, you will help us solve challenges, grow, and understand our clients’ needs to deliver tailored solutions that enhance their performance. Your role will involve strengthening client relationships, anticipating needs, and exploring new opportunities.

Fully Remote (U.S. Only): This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or your location of record within the U.S., with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement may change based on business needs and performance.

Position Overview: This role involves prospecting and developing business sales relationships with potential clients, closing new and expanded sales agreements, primarily targeting medium-sized businesses (49-499 employees). Success depends on proactive activity generation, a consultative sales approach, effective prospecting, persistence, and understanding the value of our solutions.

Location: Remote, residing within a Syracuse territory

Reports To: Director of Sales

Responsibilities:

  1. Generate new business opportunities through industry expertise, profiling, and contacts.
  2. Schedule and present Paylocity services to prospects.
  3. Prepare proposals and follow up throughout the sales process.
  4. Organize and facilitate client onboarding documentation.
  5. Coordinate with internal departments for smooth client transitions.
  6. Develop prospects via telemarketing, referrals, and contacts.
  7. Maintain relationships within broker channels and referral sources.
  8. Engage with existing customers for additional services.
  9. Attend trade shows, conferences, and events to promote services.
  10. Meet or exceed sales quotas.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  1. HS diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  2. 3-5 years of sales experience.
  3. Proven sales success in a competitive environment.
  4. Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  5. Proficiency with MS Office and the Internet.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Sitting, standing, walking, and driving to client sites.
  2. Manual dexterity for operating a keyboard and small objects.
  3. Sensory abilities for sight, hearing, touch.
  4. Mental effort for reading, writing, analyzing.
  5. Work typically performed in an office environment.
